Job Description
Support learning and growth as a contract paraprofessional in a vibrant school community for the upcoming school year. Multiple opportunities are open across K-12 settings, including elementary, middle, and high school classrooms. Get ready to make a difference from August 25th through May 28th, assisting in SPED classrooms and providing either 1:1 or general classroom support, depending on need.
Your adaptability will be highly valued—positions may range from consistent assignments to floating support wherever you’re needed most. You’ll play a key role in helping students reach their fullest potential, including supporting students with toileting, changing, and behavioral needs.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Experience as a paraprofessional or supporting children/youth is preferred.
- Active Missouri Substitute Certificate or a passing ParaPro Exam (be sure to verify and include your credentials).
- Willingness and ability to assist with personal care and behavioral supports.
- Flexible mindset for shifting between settings or grade levels as needed.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration within dynamic school teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver one-on-one and group support in both general and special education classrooms.
- Attend to the personal and behavioral needs of students with professionalism and compassion.
- Support teachers in instructional and non-instructional tasks to enhance student engagement.
- Foster a safe, engaging, and positive learning environment.
- Maintain effective records as directed and uphold district standards.
