Job Description
Make an immediate impact in the lives of young learners as an on-site school psychologist supporting Pre-K students through specialized behavioral intervention and transition services. This contract role offers a unique opportunity to engage directly with a multidisciplinary team and families, fostering positive classroom behavior and ensuring children are ready for the next stage in their educational journey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide First Step Transition behavioral intervention services to Pre-K students to enhance school readiness, social-emotional growth, and classroom conduct.
- Implement the First Step Transition program through hands-on behavioral coaching, teacher consultations, progress monitoring, and active family collaboration.
- Deliver early behavioral intervention and transition support focused on helping Pre-K students acclimate to the school environment.
- Consult with educators and caregivers on strategies to improve student success and facilitate smooth transitions to elementary programs.
- Support preschool evaluations alongside multidisciplinary staff, including psychologists, OTs, PTs, SLPs, autism consultants, teachers of record, and nurses.
- Engage families during bi-day testing sessions to gather comprehensive student profiles and collaborate for best outcomes.
- Manage a typical caseload of approximately 70 students, with flexibility for occasional additional hours as needed.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current or eligible licensure as a School Psychologist.
- Background in providing behavioral interventions, ideally with early childhood or Pre-K populations.
- Experience collaborating within multidisciplinary teams and with families.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Comfortable leading consultations, progress monitoring, and parent meetings.
This is a full-time contract, on-site position supporting a Special Needs and Abilities Preschool program between August 14, 2026, and June 4, 2027 (35 hours/week, with possible additional hours).
