Job Description
Make a meaningful impact every day as a paraprofessional supporting students in a dynamic school environment. This flexible, contract opportunity allows you to work per diem in a variety of special education classroom settings across multiple schools. You’ll play an essential role, helping students with behavioral needs and supporting individualized education plans during both the school year and extended summer programs.
What we’re seeking:
- Active Substitute or Paraprofessional certification on DESE (or in progress, with completion required before start)
- Experience in schools, especially with students demonstrating behavioral challenges or following Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
- Familiarity and comfort with supporting toileting and personal care, as needed
- Versatility to assist in both 1:1 and classroom aide roles
- Ability to navigate and respond to short-notice shift postings via the Spindle app
- Willingness to complete fingerprinting for district compliance
- Reliable, compassionate, and adaptable, able to work 1–5 days per week as needs arise
Role Highlights:
- Cover contractor call-outs across 33 district schools, primarily elementary
- Shifts available in SPED classrooms, frequently serving students with behavioral needs
- Workdays and hours vary by assignment and school level, with schedules typically between 7:00 AM and 4:30 PM
- Pick up shifts on your own schedule—minimum commitment not required
- Potential to support both regular school-year (NSY) and extended school year (ESY) programs
