Job Description
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students from preschool through 8th grade in a dynamic educational setting near Mishawaka, IN. This position serves a 5th–8th grade building with a caseload of 35 students, as well as several private school sites. You'll have the chance to provide both in-person and virtual speech-language therapy tailored to varying caseload sizes: approximately 40–45 for virtual services and 65–70 for in-person.
Bring your expertise in school-based speech-language pathology (CCC strongly preferred) to address communication needs and help students achieve their fullest potential. This assignment runs from August 18 through June 7, with a consistent full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week. While bilingual skills are not required, flexibility is offered for bilingual professionals who express interest. AAC device use is limited in this population, so proficiency is not a primary focus.
Key Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Valid state license and ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
- Prior experience with school-aged populations, especially ages preschool–8th grade
- Ability to manage diverse caseloads and adapt to multiple school sites
- Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with educators, families, and other specialists
- Open to considering SLPAs for on-site positions only
Responsibilities Include:
- Delivering direct speech-language therapy services to assigned students
- Conducting evaluations and assessments as per IEP requirements
- Developing and maintaining individualized treatment plans and documentation
- Collaborating with school teams and families for student-centered planning
- Participating in IEP meetings and ensuring compliance with all school policies
