Occupational Therapist School Setting - Lorain, OH

Help empower students in a dynamic educational setting as a School-Based Occupational Therapist! This part-time, contract opportunity is designed for a compassionate and resourceful therapist who is committed to supporting the growth and functional independence of students throughout the upcoming school year.

You’ll work collaboratively within a supportive team, integrating occupational therapy into the school community and shaping strategies that address a wide range of student needs—from developmental and sensory differences to physical and cognitive challenges. Your expertise will enable you to create, implement, and adapt interventions that unlock each learner’s potential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform thorough occupational therapy evaluations for referred students.
• Create individualized treatment plans and measurable goals aligned with IEPs.
• Deliver direct and consultative OT services in the classroom setting.
• Work closely with educators, specialists, and families to enhance student outcomes.
• Suggest effective classroom accommodations, adaptive tools, and environmental modifications.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation and progress reports; handle Medicaid billing as needed.
• Contribute actively during IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team sessions.
• Assess and adjust therapy interventions based on student progress.
• Provide guidance and training to staff and families on strategies to foster student success.

Qualifications:

• Master's or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy.
• Current Ohio OT licensure.
• NBCOT certification.
• Previous school-based or pediatric OT experience a plus.
• Excellent communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work autonomously while engaging within a multidisciplinary team.
