As a contract Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA), you will help students develop effective communication skills alongside a dedicated team of professionals. Work closely with certified SLPs and educational staff, contributing to a supportive and engaging learning experience for every child.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid, current SLPA license or certification.
- Previous experience working in a school-based setting is preferred.
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to follow treatment plans developed by supervising SLPs.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication abilities.
- Compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach to working with children of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct therapy to students, implementing targeted speech and language intervention activities as directed by supervising SLPs.
- Support classroom integration of speech and language goals.
- Collect data and maintain thorough documentation on students’ progress.
- Prepare materials, assist with assessments, and contribute to Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings when required.
- Collaborate with educators, families, and therapists to encourage a positive educational experience for students.
- Participate in professional development and training opportunities as needed.
