Operating Room Technician - Quincy, Massachusetts

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Certification and minimum 2+ years Surgical Tech / Operating Room Tech experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Qualifications:

• Valid national certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) required
• Demonstrated experience in perioperative nursing or surgical technology, preferably in an acute care or hospital setting
• Comprehensive understanding of aseptic technique and infection control standards
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to anticipate surgeon and team needs
• Possess excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, or willingness to obtain before employment

Responsibilities:

• Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures, ensuring all required equipment and supplies are sterile and ready
• Assist surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses during operations by passing instruments and supplies, maintaining a sterile field
• Accurately account for surgical instruments, sharps, and sponges during and after procedures
• Support patient safety by adhering to all facility protocols and safety guidelines
• Participate in pre-operative and post-operative room setup, breakdown, and cleaning
• Communicate actively with the surgical team to facilitate efficient workflow and optimal patient outcomes
