Responsibilities

Draw blood specimens from patients of all age groups, including pediatric and geriatric populations, following established procedures and safety standards

Prepare collected specimens for lab testing, ensuring proper labeling, handling, and documentation

Explain procedures to patients to create a trustful environment and alleviate anxiety

Maintain accurate records and documentation of specimen collection and related activities

Perform specimen processing duties with confidence, adhering to both clinical and forensic collection protocols when necessary

Ensure a safe and professional environment at all times, promoting a positive experience for patients and staff

Respond promptly to staffing needs which may include weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime shifts

Work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating organizational commitment and process excellence

Required Skills

Excellent phlebotomy skills with experience in pediatric and geriatric draw procedures

Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment

Strong customer service skills, especially in retail or service environments

Keyboard and data entry proficiency to maintain accurate documentation

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Additional Skills & Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant or paramedic training preferred

Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington

Minimum of 6 months of phlebotomy experience required; over one year preferred

Reliable transportation to and from the worksite within a 20-25 minute commute

Flexibility to work pre-scheduled shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime

Availability to work whenever scheduled, punctuality, and full shift attendance are essential
