Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist in Houston, TX
Job Description
Step into a dynamic contract opportunity for Speech-Language Pathologists interested in making a lasting impact within school settings. This position offers a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week, providing dedicated support in both pediatric and educational environments. You will split your time between two campuses, collaborating closely with a highly regarded team of professionals including an experienced diagnostician and a supportive principal at one location, while assisting another SLP with managing caseloads at both campuses.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Current licensure or eligibility for SLP-CCC or Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) in Speech-Language Pathology
- Previous experience in school settings, pediatrics, or teletherapy preferred
- Strong understanding of individualized education programs (IEPs) and special education processes
- Ability to work effectively on a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Experience supporting diverse student populations is a plus
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct therapy services to students with speech, language, and communication needs
- Conduct assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
- Participate in IEP meetings and maintain thorough documentation
- Collaborate with fellow SLPs, educators, diagnosticians, and administrators
- Adapt therapeutic approaches in both in-person and remote (teletherapy) settings as needed
- Offer consultation to teachers and families regarding communication strategies
