Science General Education Teacher | Waukegan, Illinois

Inspire the next generation of scientists as an 8th Grade Science Teacher in a dynamic middle school setting. This full-time, contract opportunity runs from mid-August through late May 2027, providing a chance to engage with students during an exciting chapter of their academic journey. Working exclusively onsite, you’ll have the opportunity to foster curiosity, encourage critical thinking, and support young learners as they tackle key concepts in general science.

Key Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a related field required
• Active Illinois Professional Educator License with appropriate endorsements
• Experience in curriculum design, lesson planning, and classroom instruction
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities
• Enthusiastic about creating inclusive, engaging learning environments

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive science instruction to 8th grade students, adapting lessons to accommodate diverse learning styles
• Develop and implement creative lesson plans aligned with state and district standards
• Assess student progress regularly, using data to guide instruction and provide targeted support
• Build a positive classroom atmosphere emphasizing respect, curiosity, and collaboration
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities
• Participate actively in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events
