Job Description
An exciting opportunity awaits for a dedicated School Psychologist eager to impact K-12 students across several schools in the Bloomfield, CT area. This full-time, contract position spans from August 2026 to June 2027, aligning with the upcoming academic year. With a 32-37.5 hour workweek, you'll play a crucial districtwide role, serving as a valued resource for diverse learners and school communities.
Key Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active, valid School Psychologist certification (or eligibility) in Connecticut
- Proven expertise supporting K-12 populations, with skill managing diverse caseloads
- Strong skills in assessment, counseling, consultation, and intervention within an educational setting
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities
- Comfortable traveling to multiple schools as part of a districtwide assignment
- Committed to in-person service delivery throughout the contract term
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational assessments to identify student needs
- Provide individual and group counseling to support academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and interdisciplinary teams to design and implement effective interventions
- Participate actively in the development and monitoring of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 plans
- Deliver professional guidance and consultation for staff on best practices in supporting student wellness and learning
- Engage proactively in crisis intervention and prevention planning as needed
