Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A pharmacy opportunity is available for a licensed pharmacist ready to contribute to patient care through accurate medication dispensing and consultation. This 9-week contract role supports both PV1 and PV2 duties, providing a dynamic work environment focused on comprehensive pharmaceutical care.

Location: Spokane, WA
Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday, day/evening shifts
  • Possible weekend rotations

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accept and dispense prescription medications while ensuring compliance with legal and safety regulations
  • Monitor patient medication usage, identify overuse and adherence challenges
  • Maintain confidential and accurate patient records and pharmacy files
  • Advise patients on medication usage, possible side effects, and answer questions to enhance understanding and compliance
  • Provide counseling on prescription and OTC medications, including drug storage, dosage, and interactions
  • Deliver additional patient services such as smoking cessation programs, blood pressure, and cholesterol monitoring
  • Educate patients in the correct use of medical devices, including blood pressure monitors and glucose meters
  • Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions according to established protocols
  • Supervise pharmacy staff members including technicians and clerks to ensure efficient operations
  • Manage pharmaceutical inventory to maintain adequate stock levels
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to address drug-related problems and optimize patient outcomes

Qualifications:

  • WA pharmacist license in-hand is required
  • Experience in retail pharmacy is welcome; training available for retail pharmacists transitioning into this role
  • Strong communication and supervisory skills
