Bring your passion for science education to high school students in the vibrant New Orleans area as a full-time General Education Science Teacher. This contract opportunity for the 2026-2027 school year allows you to foster curiosity, encourage critical thinking, and make a meaningful impact within a supportive academic environment. With a Monday through Friday schedule (35 hours per week, plus a 30-minute unpaid lunch daily) aligned to the school calendar, you’ll be able to deliver quality instruction while enjoying work-life balance.

Qualifications:

  • Possession of an active Louisiana Department of Education Teaching Certificate (required; candidates pursuing certification or with TAT will not be considered)
  • Prior high school science teaching experience is preferred
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Ability to adapt lessons for diverse learners
  • Commitment to meeting all district drug screen and fingerprinting credentialing requirements
  • Ready for a full-time schedule and able to start August 3, 2026, through May 27, 2027

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver engaging science lessons that meet curriculum standards for high school students
  • Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and tailor instruction to individual learning needs
