Job Description
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity to support early learners as a school-based SLP from October through December. This assignment, covering a family leave, will focus on students in PreK through 2nd grade and is ideal for professionals passionate about fostering communication skills in young children.
Key Qualifications:
- Current licensure or eligibility as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
- SLP-CCC credential, or SLP-CFY candidates welcome
- Prior experience in a school setting preferred, especially with younger grades
- Strong assessment, direct intervention, and case management skills
- Excellent collaboration and interpersonal abilities
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech and language therapy to students in PreK-2nd grade
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to inform individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Manage a caseload, maintain timely documentation, and participate in IEP meetings
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff to maximize student progress
- Support students’ communication goals in both individual and group settings
This contract covers the period from October 1st to December 23rd, with daily hours totaling 7 (including a half-hour unpaid lunch break). The setting is a supportive and collaborative school environment near Stevensville, MD, offering a great opportunity to make an impact throughout the fall term.
