Operating Room Technician in Carthage, NY

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Certification and minimum 2+ years Surgical Tech / Operating Room Tech experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Key Qualifications:

• Current certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent ORT credentials
• Previous experience working in an operating room environment, assisting with surgical procedures
• Comprehensive knowledge of sterile techniques, instrument handling, and surgical protocols
• Ability to anticipate surgeon and team needs proactively during procedures
• Strong commitment to patient safety, infection control, and procedural accuracy
• Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting
• Team-oriented, with effective communication skills for collaboration with nurses, surgeons, and support staff

Primary Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain sterile surgical fields before, during, and after procedures
• Ensure all instruments, equipment, and supplies are ready and in optimal condition for each case
• Assist surgeons and other surgical staff by passing instruments and supplies as needed
• Properly count sponges, needles, and instruments, maintaining accurate records throughout procedures
• Support patient positioning, draping, and transfer according to established protocols
• Adhere to all safety and infection control guidelines within the operating room
• Contribute to the post-procedure clean-up and preparation for successive cases
