Job Description
Step into a vital role supporting student communication skills in a thriving North Houston-area school district! This contract position offers full-time hours (37.5 per week) for the 2026–2027 academic year, beginning August 12, 2026, and concluding May 28, 2027. Work primarily at one school site, with possibilities for itinerant assignments within the district’s North, Northeast, or South side campuses, providing a chance to collaborate with diverse teams and impact students across the educational spectrum.
What we’re seeking in an ideal candidate:
- Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology or Communication Disorders required
- Active Texas state licensure (or eligibility to obtain prior to start)
- ASHA CCC-SLP certification highly preferred (CFs are welcome and encouraged to apply)
- Experience in a school-based setting is a plus, but new graduates are also considered
- Adaptable, collaborative approach and excellent communication abilities
- Dedication to fostering engaging, inclusive learning environments
Role responsibilities:
- Provide speech-language therapy services in line with IEP requirements for students (caseload and age groups to be determined)
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations as needed
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans
- Collaborate with educators, families, and interdisciplinary teams to support student success
- Maintain accurate, timely records and documentation
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute expertise in speech and language development
