Step into an impactful role supporting young learners in a full-time, onsite contract position as a Special Education Teacher focused on certified elementary students with cognitive impairments. This assignment spans the 2026–2027 academic year, serving students in grades K–2 and offering you the opportunity to make a difference each school day.

Utilize your expertise within a dedicated educational community as you lead and implement individualized instruction, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and advocate for the unique needs of each student. Your work will be vital in helping children discover their strengths and reach developmental milestones in a supportive classroom environment.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Valid Special Education License with CI (Cognitively Impaired) or ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) endorsement
  • Current CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification or willingness to obtain and renew annually
  • Experience working with elementary-aged children, preferably those with significant cognitive impairments
  • Strong organizational, communication, and classroom management skills
  • Passion for collaboration and student advocacy

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored instruction and support to K–2 students with cognitive impairments
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) alongside a dynamic team
  • Prepare lesson plans and adapt curriculum to accommodate diverse abilities and learning styles
  • Utilize CPI training to ensure a safe, inclusive environment for all students and staff
  • Engage with families, paraprofessionals, and related service providers to maximize student growth
