Based near Carmel, IN, you will support a caseload of approximately 20 students, delivering specialized instruction and resources tailored to their unique needs. Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
  • Proven experience working with K-12 students who have visual impairments
  • Familiarity with adapting curriculum and creating accessible educational materials using braille, large print, and assistive technology
  • Strong communication skills for collaboration with classroom teachers, aides, and families
  • Commitment to fostering independence and confidence in students with visual needs

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and consultative services to a group of 20 students with visual impairments
  • Develop, adapt, and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) focused on visual accessibility and growth
  • Instruct in core content areas as well as expanded core curriculum specific to visually impaired students
  • Collaborate closely with classroom staff, related service providers, and family members to ensure consistent support
  • Conduct assessments to evaluate student progress and adjust instruction as needed
  • Serve as a vital resource on best practices and tools for accessibility across the school setting
