Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a school-based Occupational Therapist, supporting students across two vibrant elementary schools and one private school student in the community. This position spans a maternity leave, ensuring continuity of crucial OT services during the school year.
Enjoy a dynamic full-time schedule (37.5 hours per week), starting tentatively from November 2nd through January 29th, with a possible extension into late February. You’ll have the chance to collaborate with caring educators and parents who value your expertise in helping students reach their full potential.
What You’ll Bring:
- Current, active Occupational Therapy license
- Prior experience providing OT services in a school setting strongly preferred
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
- Adaptability in managing diverse caseloads across different school environments
- Up-to-date knowledge of best practices in pediatric and school-based occupational therapy
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual and small group OT services to elementary-aged students, implementing IEP goals and addressing sensory, motor, and functional needs
- Complete timely assessments and progress reports per school and district policies
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and other service providers to develop and monitor intervention plans
- Support students’ skills in fine motor, sensory integration, self-regulation, and independence within the classroom
- Adjust interventions for student growth and support inclusion in educational settings
