Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a Deaf and Hard of Hearing teacher for the upcoming school year. This full-time position, running from August 3 to May 21, offers the chance to work closely with students who are deaf or hard of hearing, ensuring they have the resources, encouragement, and support needed to thrive. While the primary expectation is for onsite service, virtual candidates may also be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Valid Standard Professional Certificate, meeting state requirements
  • Completed Endorsement for Deaf/Hard of Hearing (K-12)
  • Current IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Experience teaching or supporting students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Knowledge of best practices in deaf education, including language access, accommodations, and assistive technology
  • Comfortable collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, families, and support staff

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that support each student’s communication, academic, and social-emotional needs
  • Offer direct instruction adapted for deaf/hard of hearing students using a variety of communication modes
  • Monitor student progress and document achievements using assessment tools and regular reporting
  • Consult with general education teachers and other professionals to support student integration and success
  • Act as an advocate for students, promoting accessible classroom environments and resources
  • Facilitate communication between school staff, students, and families regarding student needs and progress
