Qualifications and Experience

• Valid Arizona Secondary Teaching License
• K-12 Certificate or endorsement in Visual Impairment/Special Education
• Current IVP Fingerprint Card
• Previous experience as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired in K-12 settings
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Comfortable with both onsite and virtual teaching modalities
• Ability to effectively support and adapt instruction for diverse learners

Responsibilities

• Provide direct instruction and consultative support to students with visual impairments across assigned school locations
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to student needs
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, related service providers, and families to ensure appropriate accommodations and modifications
• Conduct functional vision assessments and contribute to eligibility and planning meetings
• Maintain thorough documentation for compliance and progress tracking
• Use specialized materials, technology, and adaptive devices to support access to curriculum
• Work a full-time schedule during the academic year (August through late May)
