This full-time, on-site role focuses on supporting K-12 students across an itinerant assignment spanning approximately 13 schools, with most locations within a reasonable commute in the area. Candidates who are willing to travel are especially encouraged, as the district is actively interviewing and working to create a schedule that fits your needs.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Florida Professional Teaching License for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
  • Orientation & Mobility Specialist (OMS) certification required
  • Testing/screening background for student assessments is essential
  • Preferred experience providing services in school settings, though all qualified applicants will be considered
  • Ability to serve a diverse caseload of 15-20 K-12 students, offering both direct instruction and consultative support

Your Responsibilities:

  • Travel to 2-3 schools per day (district main office serves as your homebase)
  • Adjust schedules collaboratively with the district for optimal work-life balance and travel ease
  • Conduct student screenings and evaluate eligibility for TVI services
  • Deliver direct and indirect instruction, ensuring that each student receives personalized support
  • Provide consultative services for students and staff, as well as monthly follow-ups as needed
  • Stay organized with documentation and student progress, completing all onboarding and compliance requirements
