Make a meaningful impact in the lives of young learners by providing specialized instruction as a Cognitively Impaired (CI) Teacher for elementary grades. This full-time, onsite contract opportunity spans the academic year and focuses on supporting students in kindergarten through second grade. Your expertise will help nurture each child’s unique needs and abilities in a collaborative school setting.
Qualifications and Preferred Experience:
- Valid Special Education License with CI (Cognitively Impaired) or ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) endorsement
- Certified, or willingness to obtain/maintain, CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification annually
- Experience working with K–2 students preferred
- Strong communication skills to partner effectively with colleagues, families, and ancillary staff
- Adaptability and compassion to foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction and interventions tailored to student IEP goals
- Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to develop and adapt curriculum
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting strategies as needed
- Foster a safe and positive atmosphere conducive to learning and growth
- Engage in ongoing professional development to maintain certification and stay informed about effective practices in special education
