Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid certification as a Special Education Teacher, with a strong foundation in mathematics
- Alternatively, Teacher of the Handicapped certification with completed math credits
- Previous experience supporting students with special needs in a school setting is highly valued
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Committed, reliable, and passionate about individualized instruction
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging math instruction tailored to the abilities and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) of students
- Adapt curriculum and utilize a variety of teaching techniques to maximize student success
- Document progress, participate in IEP meetings, and coordinate with specialists, parents, and support staff
- Foster a safe, welcoming, and structured classroom that encourages growth and participation
- Uphold all relevant school policies, regulations, and best practices in special education
