Job Description
Inspire young learners and share your passion for music as a full-time Music Teacher for grades K-2 in an engaging elementary school environment. This contract opportunity runs from August 17 through May 27, 2027, offering the chance to shape students’ musical journeys during their foundational years. You’ll work exclusively onsite, collaborating closely with educators and families to cultivate an enthusiastic, inclusive classroom.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a related field
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with appropriate music endorsement(s)
- Demonstrated experience in curriculum design, lesson planning, and effective instruction
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
What You’ll Do:
- Lead daily music classes for students from Pre-K through 2nd grade
- Develop and implement creative lesson plans aligned to state and school standards
- Foster musical appreciation and creativity while supporting the social-emotional growth of young learners
- Assess student performance and tailor instruction to diverse learning needs
- Organize or support school music programs, concerts, and performances as part of the broader school culture
- Collaborate with grade-level teams to integrate music with broader academic themes
