Job Description
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist in Charge experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An opportunity is available for an experienced Pharmacist In Charge to lead pharmacy operations in a busy retail setting in Elk Grove, CA. This contract position offers an immediate start for approximately 8–13 weeks, supporting a pharmacy that serves diverse patient needs with excellence and accuracy.
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday: 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM
- Saturday: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
- Closed Sundays
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee full cycle prescription processing and dispensing, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Communicate effectively with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients.
- Manage and supervise pharmacy technicians to maintain efficient workflow.
- Responsible for opening and closing the pharmacy facility.
- Complete all required Pharmacist In Charge paperwork and documentation.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years recent retail pharmacy experience, with strong preference for demonstrated prior PIC experience.
- Must hold an active California Pharmacist license.
- Immunization certification and current BLS (Basic Life Support) card required.
- Proficiency with McKesson Enterprise (ERx) system is essential.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills to manage team and operational responsibilities.
