Shape the future for students with visual impairments as a dedicated Teacher in an impactful school-based setting. As a Vision Related Services Leader, you will empower young learners from Pre-K through transition age by delivering essential support and expertise across multiple campuses. In this itinerant role, you'll collaborate with teams, guide families, and mentor fellow teachers in a district committed to meeting the unique needs of students with visual impairments.

You will play a vital role by coaching new and seasoned colleagues, providing best practice guidance, and advocating for resources to ensure the highest quality of service delivery. Your hands-on expertise will support the Vision Services Department and enhance outcomes for students and staff alike.

Ideal candidates will bring:

  • An active Professional Educator’s License (PEL) with a visual impairment endorsement
  • A Master’s Degree in a relevant field
  • At least 5 years of school-based experience working with visually impaired students
  • Skills in mentorship, coaching, and staff development
  • Ability to navigate and travel between multiple school sites as an itinerant teacher
  • Strong advocacy, collaboration, and communication abilities
  • Willingness and ability to complete fingerprinting for credentialing

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing direct vision-related instruction and services to students from Pre-K to post-secondary transition age
  • Supporting and guiding families, school personnel, and new staff
  • Mentoring colleagues and offering training on current strategies and best practices
  • Assisting the Vision Related Services Department in developing resources and maintaining compliance
  • Problem-solving with staff and advocating for student and team needs

This contract opportunity begins in late August and runs through early June, with full-time (37.5 hours/week) and possible part-time options available. You will be part of a dynamic, student-centered environment that values both expertise and growth.
