Job Description
Step into a rewarding contract role where your expertise as a Speech Language Pathologist will make a meaningful impact on students from pre-kindergarten through middle school. This full-time position, running from August 24th to June 4th, offers you a chance to serve a diverse population and develop your professional skills in a supportive educational environment.
You’ll work 37.5 hours weekly, managing a manageable caseload comprised of around 11 students with speech-only needs and an additional 10-20 students with IEPs where speech is a related service. Your contributions will be crucial in helping these young learners build communication skills that will set them up for long-term success.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active WI Speech Language Pathology license and DPI credential required
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred; Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidates considered
- Prior experience in a diverse urban setting will help you connect with and better serve the student body
- Knowledge of Child Find services and current therapeutic best practices for 4K-8 students
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete comprehensive evaluations and assessments for students referred for speech services
- Provide both direct and indirect speech/language therapy based on students’ needs
- Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with a multidisciplinary education team
- Document progress and maintain accurate case records in compliance with school and state regulations
- Support Child Find and early intervention initiatives as needed
Compensation for this role ranges from $45 to $55 per hour, based on experience and budget.
