Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A 13-week contract opportunity is available for a Staff Pharmacist with expertise in long-term care (LTC) and mail order pharmacy settings. This position involves variable shifts Monday through Friday with weekend coverage, providing a dynamic and engaging work schedule.

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday: Variable shifts between 9:30 AM – 8:30 PM (specific weekly schedule assigned)
  • Saturday and Sunday: 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM

Location: Minneapolis, MN

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications in compliance with legal standards.
  • Monitor patient medication compliance, identify over-usage, and ensure prescriptions are suitable.
  • Maintain confidential patient records with careful attention to detail.
  • Counsel patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and answer related inquiries.
  • Provide consultations on prescription and over-the-counter drugs, including storage and drug interactions.
  • Deliver patient services such as smoking cessation counseling, blood pressure checks, and cholesterol management.
  • Educate patients on the proper use of medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
  • Compound medications, including sterile solutions, following established procedures.
  • Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks.
  • Manage pharmaceutical and medical inventory effectively.
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to resolve drug-related issues.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required.
  • Active Minnesota Pharmacy license.
  • Experience in long-term care pharmacy highly preferred.
  • IV compounding experience is a plus, but not mandatory.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work well within interdisciplinary teams.
