With a per diem schedule of 6.5 hours per day, you’ll play a vital part in maintaining continuity of care and instruction when staff are absent.

Key Qualifications:

  • At least two years of college credits from an accredited institution, or an Associate’s degree or higher, or a passing score on a recognized academic assessment (such as ParaPro, ParaPathways, or The Master Teacher), or fulfillment of competencies as listed in the MDE-approved competency grid
  • PCA certificate, or a willingness to obtain one (free and can be completed in less than an hour)
  • Minimum one year of experience working with school-aged children in a professional setting is required
  • Two or more years of school-based paraprofessional experience is highly preferred

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide classroom support and individualized attention to students based on teacher and school needs
  • Step in to assist during contractor call outs, ensuring smooth classroom operations
  • Work closely with special education teams to help all students achieve their learning goals
  • Maintain a professional, patient, and adaptable demeanor in a dynamic school environment
