Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

An opportunity is available for an experienced retail pharmacist to support a well-established pharmacy located inside a grocery store setting in Alamogordo, New Mexico. This direct hire, travel contract role offers the chance to work in a community-focused environment with a secondary retail location providing occasional shift coverage.

Location: Alamogordo, NM
Type: Travel Contract (13 weeks or longer, shorter contracts considered)
Schedule:

  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Wednesday, Friday: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Closed weekends and six major holidays at the primary location; occasional weekends at secondary location

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately prepare, review, and dispense prescription medications in compliance with established protocols
  • Maintain up-to-date patient medication profiles
  • Supervise pharmacy technician staff, directing daily operations and verifying activities
  • Participate in medical emergency response efforts within the pharmacy team
  • Conduct medication storage inspections, identifying and removing outdated products
  • Assist in orienting and training new staff members
  • Adhere strictly to infection control guidelines in pharmacy operations
  • Provide flexible coverage between primary and secondary retail locations, including occasional weekends

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Active New Mexico Pharmacist License, or willing to obtain prior to start
  • Minimum one year of retail pharmacy experience preferred
  • APhA Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery Certification required or commitment to obtain within 30 days
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or willingness to obtain within 30 days
  • Strong patient counseling and medication dispensing skills
  • Ability to supervise and lead pharmacy technician staff
  • Comfortable working within a grocery store pharmacy setting
  • Willingness to cover shifts at secondary location as needed
  • Flexibility to commit to a 13-week or longer assignment; shorter durations considered

This direct client relationship position includes travel stipends covering housing, meals, and travel expenses. Weekly pay is provided, and licensing assistance is available for qualified candidates. The role requires candidates to move quickly to start.
