Job Description
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students' communication growth in an inclusive and collaborative educational environment near Valparaiso, IN. Two Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) are needed to engage with elementary and intermediate students, providing essential therapy and support throughout the school year. Preference will be given to candidates holding their Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC); SLPA candidates cannot be considered for these positions.
Openings are available at distinct campuses, offering flexible scheduling within a 7-hour workday (including a 30-minute unpaid lunch break):
SLP Position 1:
- Schools: Fegley Intermediate School & Crisman Elementary.
- Caseload: Approximately 100 students; discussions regarding Speech-Language Assistant (SLA) support are welcome.
SLP Position 2:
- Option A: Porter Lakes Elementary, serving developmental preschool, kindergarten, and 1st grade, with a caseload of 70–80 students and some SLA support.
- Option B: A split placement between Porter Lakes Elementary (2nd–3rd grade) and Boone Grove campus (4th–8th grade), serving around 75 students. SLA support depends on eligibility.
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Active Indiana SLP license.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred.
- Experience working with school-age children in diverse settings.
- Strong collaboration skills and flexibility.
Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and communication disorders.
- Develop and implement effective therapy plans tailored to student needs.
- Maintain thorough, accurate documentation.
- Consult and collaborate with educators, parents, and other support staff.
- Contribute to IEP meetings and progress reports.
