Job Description
Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting elementary students from grades 1–4 in a vibrant school community near Decatur, AL. This full-time role runs from August 12 through May 28 and is ideal for Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP) with their Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC), clinicians experienced with school-aged children, or Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPA) looking to make a difference.
Work with a manageable caseload of approximately 80–100 enthusiastic young learners, delivering impactful speech and language services that nurture growth in communication skills and confidence.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Current credentials as an SLP, SLP-CCC, or SLPA
- Experience working in a school setting (elementary level preferred)
- State licensure or eligibility for licensure in Alabama
- Strong skills in managing diverse student caseloads, developing IEPs, and implementing therapy plans
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech-language therapy for students in grades 1–4
- Evaluate students and develop individualized treatment plans and IEPs
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to maximize student progress
- Track student goals, progress, and compliance with documentation requirements
- Support inclusive classroom environments and participate in IEP meetings
