This contract opportunity involves working as an itinerant Teacher of the Visually Impaired, serving multiple school sites for the academic year beginning August 27, 2026, and concluding June 9, 2027. With a full-time commitment of 37.5 hours weekly (7.5 hours per day), there is also potential for part-time consideration, making it suitable for experienced professionals seeking flexibility.

Key Candidate Qualifications:

  • Valid Professional Educator’s License (PEL) with endorsement in teaching students with visual impairments
  • Master’s Degree in a relevant educational field
  • Minimum of 5 years’ school-based experience working with visually impaired students
  • Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, and coaching ability within an educational team
  • Strong advocacy and problem-solving skills to support staff and students
  • Must complete fingerprint-based background check prior to start

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct services and vision-related support to students from Pre-K through transition age
  • Guide and mentor new and returning staff within the Vision Related Services Department
  • Offer expert training and share best practices to enhance team proficiency
  • Collaborate effectively as an itinerant staff member among multiple school sites
  • Advocate for necessary resources and actively support families, students, and educational staff
