This opportunity calls for an Occupational Therapist with school-based experience, or a highly experienced Occupational Therapy Assistant. You’ll engage with a collaborative team, making a meaningful difference by helping children reach their highest potential through therapeutic intervention within school programs.
Qualifications and Preferred Experience:
- Current licensure in Occupational Therapy (OT) or as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA), with strong consideration for experienced OTAs
- Prior experience in a school-based setting preferred
- Understanding of IEP processes and documentation requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Collaborative approach to working with educators, therapy staff, students, and families
- Flexibility to adapt therapy techniques to individual student needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct therapy services to students in accordance with their IEP goals
- Conduct assessments to identify students' occupational therapy needs and monitor progress
- Develop individualized treatment plans focused on fostering functional independence within the school environment
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation and progress reports
- Attend IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary discussions and planning
- Educate staff and families on strategies for classroom and home carryover
- Maintain ethical standards and compliance with school, district, and licensure requirements
