Staff Pharmacist in East Dubuque, IL

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Pharmacist opportunity available in East Dubuque, IL, for an 8-week retail assignment in nearby Galena, Illinois. This role offers the chance to support a well-established pharmacy team during a transitional period, with the possibility of becoming permanent for the right candidate.

Schedule & Location:

• Location: Galena, Illinois (close to East Dubuque)
• Term: 8 weeks
• Shift: 1st shift
• Hours: Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Responsibilities:

• Dispense medications accurately and safely under the direct supervision of the pharmacy manager.
• Counsel patients on medication use, side effects, and proper regimen adherence.
• Respond to patient inquiries and resolve concerns professionally in line with company policies.
• Maintain pharmacy stock levels, including controlled substances, and manage inventory records.
• Address third-party insurance coverage questions and resolve patient-related issues promptly.
• Work closely with an experienced pharmacy technician proficient in Pioneer dispensing software.

Qualifications:

• Active and clear pharmacist license in the state of Illinois.
• Minimum of 1 year retail pharmacy experience.
• Familiarity with Pioneer software preferred but not required.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
