Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist in Merrillville, IN

In this contract position, you’ll work collaboratively with educators and families to provide exceptional speech and language services for 5th grade students and elementary overflow, shaping communication skills for lifelong success.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Hold a valid Indiana SLP license
• ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) or eligibility for Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY)
• Demonstrated experience—or a strong interest—in pediatric, school-based settings
• Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and staff from diverse backgrounds
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Willingness to commit to 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess and treat students with a range of speech, language, and communication needs
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each child
• Collaborate closely with teachers, special education staff, and families
• Maintain accurate records and progress notes in compliance with school and state guidelines
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the multidisciplinary team
• Support student achievement through evidence-based interventions and creative solutions
