Job Description
Make a meaningful impact in students’ lives by supporting learners with visual impairments across elementary, middle, and high school levels. This contract opportunity offers the chance to work full-time, Monday to Friday, during the upcoming school year from August 10, 2026, through May 27, 2027. You’ll be part of a dedicated collaboration with educators, families, and administrators, promoting accessible education for every student.
Key Qualifications:
- Certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (VI Teacher)
- Experience adapting educational methods and materials for visually impaired students
- Proficiency in both formal and informal assessments of student achievement
- Strong communication skills to collaborate in multidisciplinary meetings, including ARD
- Experience supporting learners in elementary, middle, and high school settings preferred
- Ability to follow district protocols and individualized education program requirements
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction to students across various grade levels
- Customize curriculum and teaching strategies to accommodate individual needs
- Conduct ongoing assessments and monitor progress toward goals
- Participate actively in ARD meetings, preparing and presenting relevant data
- Maintain accurate records of services, assessments, and outcomes
- Foster collaboration with general education staff and families to maximize student success
