School Nurse (Licensed Practical Nurse) in Decatur, GA

This onsite position is for the school year, running from August 3, 2026, through May 26, 2027, with a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week.

Your experience with pediatric and school-based nursing will be essential as you assist students with complex medical needs and foster a positive, safe learning environment.

Requirements:

• Active Georgia LPN license
• Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting
• Comfortable providing care for wheelchair-dependent students
• Proficient with tracheostomy and feeding tube care
• Able to ride and provide care on school buses as needed
• Commitment to onsite participation (no virtual work)

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct nursing care to students with specialized health requirements
• Monitor and document student health, communicating with lead nurse and families as needed
• Administer routine and emergency interventions, including trach/feeding tube management
• Ride the school bus and provide support to students during transit
• Collaborate with educational staff to create a safe, supportive environment
• Step into the role during the initial three weeks in the absence of a regular nurse, with potential ongoing coverage
