School Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) | Arlington Heights, Illinois

Step into a dynamic contract opportunity as a Speech-Language Pathologist, making a positive difference in the lives of high school students with specialized needs. Based near Arlington Heights, IL, this position spans from August 12 through October 13, providing focused support to students utilizing Assistive Technology (AT) and those with higher needs within a low-incidence high school caseload.

Daily hours are flexible, with shifts available from either 8:00am to 3:30pm or 7:30am to 3:00pm. Enjoy a guaranteed 7.5-hour workday that includes a lunch break. You'll work with approximately 30 students, collaborating with educators, families, and support staff to deliver high-impact speech and language services.

Key Qualifications:

• ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) or eligibility as a Clinical Fellow (CFY)
• School-based SLP experience strongly preferred
• Background working with high school students, particularly with complex communication needs and assistive technology
• Exceptional communication, organization, and collaboration skills
• Ability to adapt approaches for individualized student success

Role Responsibilities:

• Evaluate, diagnose, and implement speech and language therapy for students with a range of communication needs
• Integrate Assistive Technology solutions to support student communication
• Develop and update therapy materials and individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Monitor and document student progress, communicating regularly with multidisciplinary teams and families
• Participate actively in IEP meetings and contribute to student goal setting and data collection
