School-Based Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) - Hampton, Virginia

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Valid certification as a COTA or licensure as an Occupational Therapist
• Previous experience in a school-based setting is preferred
• Strong understanding of K-12 student needs and individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with teachers, students, and families
• Ability to adapt interventions to diverse student populations
• Detail-oriented approach to documentation and reporting

Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored occupational therapy interventions to meet individualized student goals as defined by IEPs and assessments
• Collaborate with educators, clinicians, and families to support student achievement and participation across school environments
• Conduct ongoing assessments, adjusting therapy plans to optimize student progress
• Maintain accurate, timely reports and documentation in line with district and state guidelines
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to IEP development and implementation
• Deliver both group and individual therapeutic activities that foster independence and functional skills
