Step into a rewarding contract position supporting K-8 students as a School Speech-Language Pathologist for a maternity leave assignment conveniently located near Cicero, IL. This opportunity is ideal for dedicated SLPs passionate about making an impact in upper elementary and middle school settings. You’ll provide specialized services to a manageable caseload of 15-20 students, with your primary focus on those in grades 5 through 8.

This position offers roughly 32 hours per week, allowing for a flexible schedule across 3-4 days, and starts August 17, 2026, running through November 27, 2026. Please note: Only on-site providers will be considered at this time.

Qualifications & Experience Desired:

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
  • Current or eligible Illinois SLP license
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred; strong Clinical Fellows (CF) will also be presented
  • Previous experience working in school-based settings, especially with upper elementary and middle school students, is a plus
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach with educators and families

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive speech and language services to a caseload of K-8 students—primarily those in grades 5-8
  • Conduct evaluations, develop individualized education programs (IEPs), and document progress
  • Collaborate with teachers, families, and other staff to support student success
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and school initiatives
  • Attend new staff training (details to be determined)
