Job Description
Make a meaningful difference as a School Psychologist by supporting students, educators, and families throughout the academic year. This full-time, in-person contract role is based near Axton, VA and begins in August, continuing through June. You’ll provide vital psychological services, contribute to a positive school culture, and play a key role in student success.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Valid School Psychologist certification or state licensure (or eligibility)
- Master’s or specialist-level degree in School Psychology from an accredited program
- Previous experience in a school-based setting preferred
- Thorough understanding of assessment tools, behavioral interventions, and special education processes
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with students, staff, and families
- Commitment to working full-time on site, Monday through Friday
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain confidentiality
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychological, behavioral, and academic assessments to support student learning
- Develop and present comprehensive evaluation reports for IEP and eligibility meetings
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and multidisciplinary teams to design appropriate interventions
- Support crisis intervention, preventive mental health strategies, and positive behavioral supports
- Work directly with students individually and in groups to address emotional, academic, and social needs
- Provide consultation and guidance to families and staff regarding student needs and resources
