Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist in Spruce Pine, NC

Step into a dynamic full-time opportunity as a Speech-Language Pathologist for the 2026–2027 school year at an elementary school near Spruce Pine, NC. This contract position runs from August 10, 2026, through May 28, 2027, and offers the chance to make a lasting impact on the communication growth and academic success of young learners. Manage a manageable caseload of approximately 43 students Monday through Friday, dedicating 37.5 hours each week to transformative speech and language interventions.

Key Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) strongly preferred
• Proven pediatric or school-based SLP experience
• Familiarity with elementary-aged children’s communication and developmental needs
• Strong preference for active North Carolina SLP licensure
• Expertise in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning for a variety of speech, language, and communication disorders

What You’ll Do:

• Conduct evaluations to determine students’ speech and language strengths and needs
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s goals
• Deliver both individual and group speech therapy sessions
• Collaborate closely with teachers, administrators, and families to foster productive and supportive learning environments
• Document progress and communicate outcomes to educational teams and parents
• Participate in IEP meetings and serve as a trusted resource for speech and language best practices
