Job Description
Step into a dynamic educational environment supporting early learners as a contract Occupational Therapist for the upcoming fall semester. This position serves Early Childhood and Kindergarten students, providing essential OT services that foster physical and developmental growth. With a manageable caseload of approximately 25 students, you’ll engage with an energetic and supportive school community and make a meaningful difference every day.
This assignment runs from August 12th to November 3rd, with consistent hours from 8:00 am to 3:30 pm. Your workday includes a 7.5-hour shift with a built-in lunch break, supporting a healthy work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services to early childhood and kindergarten students, tailoring interventions to meet individual goals
- Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to promote student progress in both classroom and functional skills
- Complete assessments, develop IEP goals, and document student growth in accordance with school policies
- Adapt therapy techniques and materials for a variety of developmental needs within a school-based setting
- Consult with educational team members to integrate OT strategies into daily routines
Qualifications:
- Valid Occupational Therapist license for Illinois
- Previous school-based OT experience preferred, especially with early childhood or kindergarten-aged children
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Ability to thrive independently and within a multidisciplinary team
- Reliable and organized with a passion for helping young learners succeed
