Family Nurse Practitioner
Job Description
Location: Winston-Salem, NC
Employment Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Saturdays as needed, typically once a month and usually a partial day)
Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and collaborative Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to provide clinical oversight for specialty infusions administered in our Ambulatory Infusion Centers (AICs) in the Winston-Salem area.
In this role, you will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of nurses, Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), and physicians to ensure exceptional, high-quality care. You will perform both provider and nursing functions as needed, maintain strong expertise in emerging infusion therapies, and occasionally travel to neighboring AIC locations to support seamless coverage across centers.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Oversight: Directly supervise and manage specialty infusion therapies administered within the AIC setting.
Dual-Function Care: Perform both provider-level assessment/management and hands-on nursing duties as required by center needs.
Team Collaboration: Foster strong, productive working relationships alongside nurses, fellow FNPs, and physicians.
Therapy Expertise: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current, new, and emerging infusion therapies and treatment protocols.
Flexibility & Travel: Travel to secondary AIC sites as needed to ensure consistent coverage and high standards of care.
Qualifications & Required Skills
Education & Licensure:
Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
Active, unencumbered Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) license in the state of North Carolina.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or commitment to obtain upon hire).
Required Knowledge & Competencies:
Clinical experience in a family practice or primary care setting, with a strong understanding of chronic disease management.
High proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel).
Proven ability to navigate ambiguous, fast-paced environments with composure under pressure.
Exceptional teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications & Standout Traits
Preferred Experience:
While not required, strong candidates will bring prior experience in:
Specialties: Rheumatology, Gastroenterology, Neurology, Immunology, Oncology/Hematology, or Specialty Pharmacy.
Clinical Settings: Infusion centers, home infusion, emergency care, or critical care nursing.
Procedures & Care: PICC lines, ports, IV access, and patient education on specialty medications.
Ideal Standout Candidate Profile:
2-5+ years of primary care or family practice experience.
Practical knowledge of specialty infusion medications and complex biologics.
Background in caring for patients with complex, chronic illnesses.
Confident in recognizing and managing acute infusion reactions.
A collaborative, empathetic, and patient-centered approach to care.
