School Occupational Therapist - Sanostee, New Mexico
Job Description
Make an impact supporting students with your expertise in occupational therapy! This contract opportunity is ideal for a dedicated OT with experience in school-based and healthcare settings. The position is based near Sanostee, NM, and runs from early August through mid-May.
You’ll be working closely with two 7-year-old students, providing direct services and engaging in related indirect tasks for a total of 1–2 hours each week. Your focus will be to help these children develop essential skills for academic and daily life success.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Occupational Therapist licensure
- Experience in school settings, home health, and healthcare environments
- Familiarity with IEPs and goal-setting in educational environments
- Ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, teachers, and families
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Passion for helping children achieve their fullest potential
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct OT services to two elementary-aged students, 30 minutes weekly each
- Complete all required indirect services, including documentation, collaboration, and planning
- Develop and implement tailored therapy plans designed for students’ unique developmental needs
- Communicate progress and recommendations with educators and caregivers
- Maintain compliance with all school and state policies during service period (August 3–May 19)
- Participate in meetings as needed and contribute insights to enhance overall student support
