Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Glendale, AZ

Step into a meaningful role supporting students as a Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. This contract opportunity extends from August 3rd through May 21st and offers a full-time schedule in a school environment. Your expertise will empower students with hearing differences to thrive both academically and personally.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Standard Professional Certificate required.
• Completion of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (K-12) Endorsement is mandatory.
• IVP Fingerprint Card must be obtained prior to the start date.
• Experience working with deaf and hard of hearing students in educational settings is highly valued.
• Strong communication skills and adaptability in classroom and virtual environments.
• Comfortable designing accommodations and differentiated instruction.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized and group instruction aligned to IEPs for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
• Develop lesson plans, modify curricular materials, and implement effective strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
• Collaborate closely with classroom teachers and special education teams, serving as a resource for best practices.
• Provide ongoing support, assessment, and progress monitoring for each student on your caseload.
• Maintain timely documentation and compliance with state and federal educational requirements.
• Participate in professional development and family meetings as needed.

Additional Details:

• This role is onsite; however, virtual candidates may be considered.
• Full-time, contract position following the academic calendar.
