Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A long-term care contract pharmacist position is available in Slippery Rock, PA, offering a consistent 40-hour workweek across varied hours including weekdays and weekends. This role requires a licensed pharmacist to oversee and verify medication orders and blister-packed prescriptions for skilled nursing, personal care, and hospice facilities. The assignment initially spans one month with potential for extension, and an 8-week contract will also be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify medication orders entered by data entry technicians for multiple care settings.
- Check sterile and non-sterile packaged medications including blister packs.
- Respond to clinical queries from nurses and physicians across nursing and hospice facilities.
- Accurately count and document controlled substances in the perpetual inventory.
- Inspect emergency medication boxes to ensure readiness.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy.
- Active and good-standing pharmacist license in the state of Pennsylvania.
- A minimum of 1+ year pharmacist experience, with preference for long-term care exposure.
- Physical capability to sit, stand, and perform tasks requiring fine motor skills and visual acuity, with the ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in operating QS1, Docutrack, and PCC pharmacy systems.
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday: 8:00 am – 6:00 pm
- Saturday: 8:00 am – 4:00 pm
- Sunday: 8:00 am – 3:00 pm
