Job Description
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Join a healthcare setting focused on Long Term Care (LTC) and Mail Order pharmacy services, working as a Staff Pharmacist for an 8-week contract in Reno, NV. You will play a vital role in ensuring patients receive appropriate medication while supporting overall health management.
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Shifts: 8:30 am – 5:00 pm or 12:30 pm – 9:00 pm
- Rotating every other Saturday
Responsibilities:
- Accept and accurately dispense prescription medications.
- Monitor patient medication use to ensure compliance and detect over-usage.
- Verify that prescribed medications are appropriate and legally dispensed.
- Maintain confidential patient records and manage pharmacy documentation.
- Provide patient counseling on medication usage, potential side effects, and answer questions.
- Offer consultations on prescription and non-prescription drugs, including storage and dosage.
- Deliver patient services such as smoking cessation support, blood pressure and cholesterol monitoring.
- Educate patients on using medical devices like blood pressure monitors and glucose meters.
- Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following protocols.
- Supervise pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks.
- Manage pharmaceutical and medical inventory effectively.
- Identify drug-related issues and communicate with physicians and healthcare teams.
- Collaborate closely with healthcare professionals including physicians, nurses, and interns.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required.
- Nevada Pharmacy license.
- Experience in Long Term Care pharmacy is highly advantageous.
